The district encompasses all of Palm Beach County. For the 2010–2011 academic year, enrollment totaled 171,692 students in Pre-K through 12th grades. The District operates a total of 187 schools: 107 elementary, 33 middle, 24 high, 17 alternative, 2 adult and community, 1 intermediate, 2 Exceptional Student Education, and 2 K-12. It has 21,495 employees and 37,036 volunteers.
